According to the report Great Expectations: ESG - what's next for asset owners and managers published by BNP Paribas Security Services, 79 percent of institutional investors and asset managers consider ESG criteria. Nevertheless, the report predicts that the investment volume in responsible strategies will double during the next two years.
ESG criteria are considered by 77 percent of asset owners. However, half of them have invested less than 25 percent of their portfolios in explicit ESG strategies while also planning to increase this share to half of their portfolio or more.
While 80 percent of asset managers consider ESG criteria in their investment decisions, 40 percent market less than a quarter of their funds as ESG or SRI fundrs. However, more than half of those want to market the majority of their funds as ESG products over the next two years.
