Forestry Investments: Diversification and Impact

United Bankers, a Helsinki based asset manager and a specialist in real assets, organised a lunch seminar at Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof on 10th November 2021 on forestry as an asset class and a means to achieve better diversification and impact. The speakers at the event included Nils Schalin and Kari Kangas from United Bankers as well as Nick Tapp and Jack Acland from Craigmore Sustainables:

  • The United Bankers presentation covered the firm’s specialist capabilities within real assets, the investment case for forestry and the entire value chain within the industries using materials sourced from sustainable forests.
  • Craigmore provided another example of the impact of forestry from another perspective. In addition to sustainable forestry, New Zealand represents a market where carbon sequestration has become a major factor in the investment case.
