The changing outlook for industrial metals

Industrial metals are enjoying a renaissance with ETP inflows over recent weeks being the largest since 2014. The outlook for industrial metals continues to improve as China’s economy shows signs of stabilisation and a number of global indicators turn more positive. This improvement in outlook is bolstered by the fact that in many cases industrial metals have been trading at below their marginal cost of production.

Join Kenneth Hoffman, Sector Head - Global Metals and Mining Research at Bloomberg Intelligence, and Nitesh Shah, Commodities Strategist at ETF Securities, as they discuss the improving outlook for industrial metals. On May 25, 3pm (MESZ), they talk for 50 minutes about:

  • Evidence for why industrial metals are enjoying a renaissance
  • What is driving this improved outlook? Is it sustainable?
  • What are the implications of an improving outlook for industrial metals?
