Zudem hat die Weltraumfirma SpaceX von Elon Musk Bitcoin im Wert von 373 Mio. US-Dollar veräußert, wie aus dem jüngsten SEC-Filing hervorgeht. Bitcoin wird aktuell mit einem geringen Volumen von nur 2,3 Milliarden US-Dollar täglich gehandelt. Im Vergleich zu elf Milliarden US-Dollar pro Tag zu Beginn dieses Jahres. Damit reagieren die Märkte deutlich sensibler auf große Transaktionen.
Auf der Makro-Seite erreichten die 30-jährigen Zinsen den höchsten Stand seit 20 Jahren. Bitcoin war in den letzten Jahren regelmäßig der erste Wert, der auf Zinsänderungen reagierte, so dass die aktuellen Entwicklungen möglicherweise ein Vorbote eines breiteren Einbruchs in anderen Anlageklassen sein könnte. Befürchtungen über den wirtschaftlichen Abschwung in China, der mit der einsetzenden Deflation an Fahrt gewinnt, belasteten zusätzlich den Krypto-Markt. Mittelfristig dürfte eine Schwäche des chinesischen Finanzsektors dem Krypto-Sektor jedoch Aufwind geben. Aktuell weist der Bitcoin zudem seine niedrigste 30-Tage-Volatilität seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen auf. In der Vergangenheit führte dies zu deutlichen Kursbewegungen.
